Open With Photoshop

Open With Photoshop How to Use Guide Image

Congratulations! Open With Photoshop installed successfully. You can right now start using your new add-on.

Open With Photoshop is a new companion for web and graphic designers to open up any web image with Adobe Photoshop via a single and quick mouse click.

After installation of Open With Photoshop you can right click on any image inside a web page and choose Open With Photoshop option from context menu to send the very image to the Adobe Photoshop. If the Photoshop is not in open state the add-on will start up the Photoshop and will place the image inside the Photoshop when Photoshop is ready. If Photoshop is already open, Open With Photoshop will simply add the image in a new Photoshop window immediately.

Open With Photoshop usage is that simple and it is great time saver for web and graphic designers.

Note for Mac Users: The initiation of Photoshop takes a bit longer on Mac Os X if the Photoshop is not already open. Actually this is not a problem of Open With Photoshop but Mac Os X. If this lag irritates you, you may open up Photoshop manually before adding the web images via Open With Photoshop so that Open With Photoshop can put the images in the Photoshop in a faster way.

If you find the application useful please support my development efforts.

    Works fine with CS2 too.
    Thanks

  2. I’d love to use your add-on, but I’ve just tried it in Mac OS X 10.6.3 running Firefox 3.6.3 and Photoshop CS5; it doesn’t work, does nothing when I click the “Open in Photoshop” menu item. Any chance on working for us, Mac-users? :-)

This is a wonderful applet … it opens my old PS v6.0 but PS responds: “Could not open the droplet because the file could not be found”.

I’m retired, and the new Adobe product just isn’t in the budget. If you know anyone selling an old used version of CS, please send them my way, and I’ll definitely be a contributor to barisderin.com. Regards,

    Hello,
    I am using PS CS4 on Windows 7 64bit.
When I open image with PS using this addon, PS gets open but error pops up showing “Adobe Photoshop Droplet has stopped working.” Please Help me out.

I checked the add-on on Windows 7. The problem is related to the Windows 7 and Photoshop. Droplets does not work on Windows 7 because of User Account Control (UAC). If it is disabled the droplets and so the add-on works.

Below is the solution to fix the UAC problem.

Add-on works perfectly on Windows XP but for Windows 7 the problem is related to both Windows 7 and Photoshop.

I fixed the problem by the above forum post for Windows 7. Please try it and send your feedback.

Doesn’t work with Firefox 3.6.3 on Mac OSX 10.6.3 using Photoshop CS4. I was really excited about this too… but it probably isn’t too hard of a extension to write up. Any way you could make a more open-ended version? Just have a right-click menu option with an application of our liking with an icon?

    Appreciate your work. :)

    Windows 7 UAC easy fix!

First off thanks a lot man, this is an extremely handy add-on and it works AWESOME now!

I’m running Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit with Photoshop CS5 64-bit and all I did to fix the UAC problem was basically just turned it off, and then just turned it right back on again.

First I turned it off (it prompts you to restart), and then loaded Firefox and I just chose a random pic from a website and loaded that pic from the right-click menu into Photoshop, it loaded fine as the UAC was off.

Went back into control panel and turned UAC back on, shut down Photoshop and Firefox and again restarted. Loaded up Firefox and loaded up a few pics into Photoshop with the right-click menu, and every one of them loaded just fine.

So anyone having problems who has Windows 7 (or probably even Vista too) this just might do the trick, it worked for me without having to mess around within the Photoshop preference files and having to rename or delete anything.

does exactly what it says – opened an image in photoshop with a right click. this saves 4 actions (copy, switch to PS, create new, paste). thanks!
